Meet Byron Chamber Member: Connect Adventures
Connect Adventures is a specialist multi-day guided walking company. All of our walks are in the Northern Rivers, and all inclusive.
What do you love about doing business in Byron?
Using local food and produce for our multi-day walks is incredibly important to us, and we are so lucky that we have such an amazing array of produce to choose from. Whether that’s fresh seafood from I’m a catch for our fish curry, all the fresh produce in our lunches and dinners, or the olives and smoked fish we put on our pre-dinner platters. We live and work in such an abundant food region, and we feel so grateful to be able to source our food locally.
What’s something people might not know about you or your business?
Jason has 20 years of experience in the outdoor and adventure/trekking industry, having worked on and walked most of the iconic walks in Australia. His breadth of experience across guiding, operations, safety and management means we are incredibly equipped in every area of running multi-day walks. Kate has a background in wellness as a qualified nutritionist and building biologist, and the way we approach the food we prepare, because we have an in-house nutritionist, is very unique.
What’s one other local business you love and why?
Karkarlla Byron Bay: We have gained so much inspiration from Mindy [also a Byron Chamber committee member] in incorporating native ingredients into the meals we serve guests. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and generous with sharing information, and we use one of her recipes as a base for one of our dinners. Mindy’s book is an amazing resource for understanding native foods, where to purchase from indigenous owned companies, and more.
