Sharing is caring!

In line with International Women’s Day and our upcoming event on the 12th March HIDDEN WOMEN OF BYRON BAY LUNCHEON, we’re shining a spotlight onto the heart of Byron, the Byron Community Centre (BCC).

For close to 40 years the BCC has lived its purpose “To connect and service the diverse needs of our vibrant community” and they continue to do so as the thriving cultural, social and economic services hub of our shire.  They service 1000’s of people a year and many of us have or continue to benefit from their offerings.

The Byron Community Centre would welcome your help as a Sponsor or Donor.  The BCC is entirely self-funded through income and project grants but receives no ongoing income from Federal, State or Local Governments. It is managed as a community reserve trust by the Byron Bay Community Association (BBCA).

They often operate at a deficit and the incredible growth we’re experiencing here in our region has become a double-edged sword for them.  There is now more demand than ever for all their services.  The growth areas seen in their market stallholders is reflective of the micro-businesses booming locally, theatre bookings have increased, and their social services in the areas of Seniors, Homeless, Advocacy, and Food are growing at staggering rates.

This increase in demand means increasing pressure on their staff to service our community’s growth.  They have managed to operate thus far with only one full-time staff, five part-time staff, a handful of casuals and a roster of over 200 volunteers.  They need your support to continue to expand their services to meet demand via increasing their staffing, offerings and being able to offer their volunteers a bit more and reward them regularly.

The mutual benefits in further connecting you, your business, and the BCC are wonderful for our community and all involved.

There are a number of sponsorships available and they are open to other ideas as well; for example, a tax deductible monthly contribution if that better suits your organisation.
